PRACTICE

Researchers are important in the scientific study of the criminal justice system but, without the practitioners (law enforcement officers, corrections officers, other professionals), the research piece will be lacking in the participation of those who actually work in the field. Our efforts, through the backing of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) Executive Institute, help provide connections with law enforcement at the local, state, and federal levels, not only from Illinois but from other states. Creating the connection and reinforcing the importance of research through the ILETSB Executive Institute programs, the WIU Department of Psychology, and the WIU School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration provides a unique relationship between practice and research.

If you are a researcher seeking out criminal justice organizations to assist with your study, please do not hesitate to contact us. If you are a criminal justice organization seeking to find a researcher to work within your agency, please let us know. We will work to help you find the right fit of practice and research.
